The Nigerian Military, under Operation Hadarin Daji, has dealt a significant blow to terrorist operations in the North-West, neutralizing Aminu Kanawa, the second-in-command to notorious terrorist leader, Bello Turji.

In a statement released Wednesday, the Defence Director, Edward Buba, revealed that troops also inflicted critical injuries on key members of Turji’s network, including his younger brother, Dosso, and a close ally, Danbokolo.
Several of Turji’s commanders were neutralized during the offensive, including Abu Dan Shehu, Jabbi Dogo, Dan Kane, Basiru Yellow, Kabiru Gebe, Bello Buba, and Dan Inna Kahon-Saniya-Yafi-Bahaushe, among others. Over 24 terrorists fleeing from Turji’s camp in the Gebe and Isa Local Government Areas of Sokoto State, as well as Gidan Rijiya in Shinkafi LGA of Zamfara State, were also eliminated.
The military operation targeted Turji’s enclave near the Fakai high ground, where Suleiman, a loyalist of the late terrorist leader Halilu Sububu, was killed. Suleiman was reportedly leading a reinforcement team to rescue Turji’s embattled camp when he was neutralized.

According to the statement, the death of Turji’s second-in-command, along with his key allies and commanders, marks a significant disruption to the terrorist network’s operations, particularly in Zamfara and Sokoto States, where they had been responsible for numerous kidnappings and attacks.
The military emphasized its commitment to continuing the offensive until terrorist elements are completely dismantled, reiterating that its goal is to ensure safety and security for all citizens in the region.
