Retired Lt Gen. Jeremiah Useni, a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has died at the age of 82 after a prolonged illness.
His passing was announced by Plateau State governor, Caleb Mutfwang, who described Useni’s death as a tremendous loss to his family, the Nigerian Armed Forces, Plateau State, and the entire nation.
Useni had a distinguished career, serving as Quarter Master General of the Nigerian Army and Minister of Transport.
He was also a key figure in promoting peace and security in Northern Nigeria and Plateau State.
Governor Mutfwang praised Useni’s tireless efforts, saying he left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s security and political landscape.
The governor offered his condolences to Useni’s family, Plateau State, and the nation, praying for strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
He also asked for God’s divine presence to comfort and provide solace in the days ahead. Useni’s legacy will be remembered for his selfless service to Nigeria.
