Africa’s Football Governing Body, Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) and TotalEnergies have renewed their partnership for another four years.
CAF President, Dr. Patrice Motsepe and TotalEnergies Chairman and CEO, Patrick Pouyanné signed the agreement, which will see the energy giant continue sponsoring 12 major CAF competitions and events between 2025 and 2028. These include:
- TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2024
- TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025
- TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda 2027
- CAF African Schools Football Championship (from 2025 onward)
With this renewed commitment, TotalEnergies reinforces its dedication to football’s growth in Africa. A key highlight of the partnership is the CAF African Schools Football Championship, an initiative designed to develop young football talents across the continent.
CAF President, Dr. Motsepe expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating: “CAF is excited to continue working with TotalEnergies and its Chairman, Patrick Pouyanné, whom I have known and respected for years. This partnership strengthens the competitiveness of football across our 54 member nations.
“Over the past few years, CAF has introduced various projects to develop African football, particularly among the youth. The African Schools Football Championship has already seen around 800,000 boys and girls participate, making it a resounding success. TotalEnergies shares CAF’s values of governance, transparency, and community development, and we are honored to continue this journey together.”
Chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies, Patrick Pouyanné, also spoke on the renewed collaboration: “Since 2016, TotalEnergies has been honored to shine a spotlight on African football. We are thrilled to extend this partnership for another four years.

Since 2016, TotalEnergies has been a major partner of CAF, sponsoring over 1,500 matches and serving as the title sponsor of CAF’s 10 main competitions. The 2025-2028 sponsorship period will cover:
