Boko Haram insurgents launched a deadly attack on Sanda Wajiri, a remote village near Kolkata in northern Cameroon, on Sunday night, killing four people and setting parts of the settlement on fire.
According to intelligence sources, the militants, heavily armed, stormed the village in a surprise raid, firing sporadically to create panic among residents. However, the villagers mounted a strong resistance, managing to kill one of the attackers before the group retreated.
During the assault, the insurgents torched several homes, food stores, and essential supplies, leaving the community in distress. Despite the destruction, the villagers’ defiance resulted in the capture and killing of one of the attackers.
This latest attack underscores the persistent security challenges in northern Cameroon, where Boko Haram continues to target vulnerable communities.
