Kenneth Okonkwo, former spokesperson for the Labour Party (LP) presidential campaign council, has announced his resignation from the party, citing internal and leadership crises.

Okonkwo, who played a key role in the LP’s 2023 presidential election campaign, stated that his political mission is centered on good governance, which he believes is no longer achievable within the party’s current structure.

“My entrance to politics is for good governance, and I will continue to work for it to ensure that Nigeria becomes a great country of incorruptible men. This aim can no longer be realized within Labour Party as presently constituted,” he said.

Declaring that the party is now “non-existent” in its current form, Okonkwo expressed gratitude to Nigerians who supported the movement and pledged his continued commitment to serving the people. He also signaled openness to joining another political platform that aligns with his vision.

His resignation will take effect on February 25, 2025, the second anniversary of the 2023 presidential election.
