Nigerian troops under Operation Fansan Yanma have eliminated a notorious arms supplier in Zamfara State during a stop-and-search operation.
The suspect, identified as an arms trafficker from Anka, was intercepted in Nasarawa Burkullu while transporting weapons intended for criminal groups. Intelligence reports had tracked his movements, leading troops to flag down his vehicle.
Rather than comply, the suspect attempted to escape but was swiftly neutralized. A search of his belongings led to the recovery of firearms and ammunition meant for armed groups facing weapon shortages.
The military’s intensified crackdown has disrupted supply chains for bandits in the region, making access to arms more difficult. Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities as efforts to dismantle criminal networks continue.
