A Kano State High Court has set April 15, 2025, to hear preliminary objections in the bribery trial of Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ganduje, his wife, Hafsat, and son, Umar Abdullahi Umar, are facing an eight-count charge of bribery, misappropriation, and diversion of public funds.
The Kano state government filed the charges against Ganduje and six others, including Abubakar Bawuro, Jibrilla Muhammad, Lamash Properties Limited, Safari Textiles Limited, and Lasage General Enterprises Limited.
During the court’s resumption on Thursday, counsel to the state government, Adeola Adedipe, expressed readiness to proceed with the applications.
However, some defendants requested extensions of time to regularize their processes.
The presiding judge, Amina Adamu-Aliyu, granted all applications for extension of time and adjourned the matter until April 15, 2025, for the hearing of all pending preliminary objections.
