President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to participate in the 38th Ordinary Session of the African Union (AU) Heads of State and Government, scheduled from February 14 to 18, 2025.
According to a statement by Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu was received by top Ethiopian and Nigerian officials, including Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar and Nigeria’s Charge d’Affaires in Ethiopia, Nasir Aminu.
The summit, themed “Justice for Africans and People of African Descent Through Reparations,” will focus on reparatory justice and racial healing. Tinubu is expected to deliver a speech at the AU Peace and Security Council meeting, addressing security challenges, including the escalating conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Additionally, the Nigerian delegation will participate in discussions on health financing, climate change, and the establishment of an Africa Credit Rating Agency. The President is expected to return to Abuja on Monday, February 17, 2025.
