A helicopter went down on Wednesday in Kenya’s Samburu county, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority confirmed.
According to a KCAA spokesperson, the aircraft was en route to the Ewaso Nyiro river, which runs through Samburu National Reserve.
Local outlets including The Star and The Standard reported that tourists were thought to be on board, but officials have not confirmed those details. The KCAA spokesperson declined to state how many people were on the helicopter or their identities.
Rescue and investigation teams are responding to the crash site. No information on casualties has been released yet.
