Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Senegalese forward, Nicolas Jackson will be out for six to eight weeks due to a hamstring injury.

The 23-year-old sustained the injury against West Ham two weeks ago, and although initial hopes suggested a minor setback, scans have revealed the issue is more serious than expected.
Jackson, who has scored nine goals this season, is Chelsea’s second-top scorer behind Cole Palmer (14 goals). His absence leaves the Blues without a recognized striker, as Marc Guiu—who replaced him in that match—also suffered a serious groin injury.

“Nico [Jackson] will be out until the international break, probably available after that,” Maresca said. “We knew it was a muscular problem, but we didn’t know how serious it was. Unfortunately, the scan confirmed it’s a significant injury.”

With Jackson sidelined, Palmer and Christopher Nkunku are expected to fill in up front. Wingers Pedro Neto, Noni Madueke, and Tyrique George have also been mentioned as possible alternatives.
Chelsea, currently fourth in the Premier League, face Brighton in a league match on Friday. Reece James is available for selection after sitting out the FA Cup match against Brighton as a precaution following his recent return from injury.
