In a significant stride towards amplifying youth empowerment, the Lagos State Youth Parliament held a high-profile meeting with Governor Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, facilitated by Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende, the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, to introduce the Parliament’s principal officers to the Governor and discuss key initiatives aimed at advancing youth development across the State.

During the meeting, the Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting and empowering young people in line with the THEME+ agenda, which prioritizes education, entrepreneurship, and skill acquisition, and commended the efforts of the Youth Parliament for its relentless advocacy for youth-centric policies and initiatives that complement the State’s broader vision for sustainable development.

Speaking on behalf of the Parliament, the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Itunuoluwa Maria Soniregun expressed profound appreciation for the Governor’s steadfast dedication to youth empowerment and also pledged the Parliament’s commitment to complementing the government’s effort in driving meaningful change.

Additionally, she lauded the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende, and the leadership of the Ministry for their continued efforts in creating opportunities for young people in Lagos State.


Accompanying the Speaker to the meeting were the Principal Officers of the Parliament, including Deputy Speaker Hon. Soyiga Samuel Adeshina (Ikorodu Constituency 1), Majority Leader Hon.
