Despite the heavy presence of DSS operatives at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Speaker Rt. Hon. Mojisola Meranda defied pressure to resign and resumed her official duties on Monday.
The security siege, which saw the offices of the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and Clerk sealed off, did not deter Meranda from asserting her leadership.
Upon her arrival at the Assembly complex, Meranda was met with a warm reception from lawmakers and staff, who cheered her return.
The show of solidarity underscored the internal support she enjoys despite the ongoing political crisis surrounding the leadership of the House.
