President John Dramani Mahama, in consultation with the Council of State, has appointed 12 individuals to serve on the governing board of the Bank of Ghana (BoG).
The appointments align with Article 70(1)(d)(iii) of the Constitution and Section 8 of the Bank of Ghana Act, 2002 (Act 612), as amended by the Bank of Ghana (Amendment) Act, 2016 (Act 918).

The newly appointed board members include Dr. Johnson Pandit Kwesi Asiama as Governor, Dr. Zakari Mumuni as First Deputy Governor, and Thomas Nyarko Ampem as the Ministry of Finance representative. Economist Mr. Augustine Fritz Gockel also joins the board.
The board further comprises professionals from various fields, including law, finance, risk management, and technology.
