The agreement is seen as a major step in developing Somalia’s oil and gas industries by leveraging Azerbaijan’s expertise in the energy sector. It also aligns with Somalia’s broader efforts to enhance international partnerships and boost its economy.

In a related development, Somalia recently signed an oil exploration deal with Turkey, resulting in the deployment of a search vessel to explore potential reserves off the country’s coast.

The Turkish exploration vessel has completed its first phase of operations, with findings on Somalia’s offshore oil potential expected to be released soon.
