The bandits, numbering several gunmen, had stormed the communities on February 27, 2025, and made off with an unspecified number of cattle.

The vigilantes, in an attempt to recover the stolen cattle, fell into an ambush laid by the bandits, who opened heavy fire and killed all six of them on the spot.

The deceased vigilantes have been identified, and their bodies have been recovered by a joint team of troops, police, and additional vigilante members.

The authorities have intensified patrols in the affected communities to prevent further attacks and have warned against independent vigilante actions without proper coordination with security agencies.
