FIFA president, Gianni Infantino has announced that the 2026 World Cup final will feature a Super Bowl-style half-time show, promising an unforgettable spectacle.
The tournament, which expands to 48 teams for the first time, will culminate at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium on July 19.

Infantino, in an Instagram post, assured fans of “a show befitting the biggest sporting event in the world” during the break. British band Coldplay will collaborate with FIFA to help curate the lineup, though it remains unclear if the traditional half-time interval will be extended.

Additionally, FIFA will take over Times Square during the final weekend, hosting celebrations for both the third-place match and the final.
“These will be two incredible matches… what better way to celebrate them than in historic Times Square,” Infantino said.
He also expressed gratitude to Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans for assisting with the event and thanked Coldplay’s Chris Martin and Phil Harvey for helping finalize the artist selection.
The Super Bowl’s half-time show, which often garners more viewers than the game itself, has previously featured global icons like Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, and Rihanna.
