KAA Gent defender, Jordan Torunarigha has been called up to Nigeria’s 23-man squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, replacing the injured Nathan Tella.

The 27-year-old center-back was initially named in the provisional squad but was not included in the final selection. However, following Tella’s injury, the Super Eagles confirmed his addition.
“Camp Update: Jordan Torunarigha has been called to replace injured Nathan Tella. We wish Nathan a quick recovery,” the team announced via their official X account.

Tella, who was on the bench in Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-0 defeat to Bayern Munich on Tuesday, is expected to miss this weekend’s Bundesliga clash against Stuttgart, according to manager Xabi Alonso.
Nigeria will face Rwanda at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali next Friday before hosting Zimbabwe at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Tuesday, March 25.
