The National Industrial Court of Nigeria, led by Hon. Justice M.N. Esowe, has issued an order in the legal case between Mr. Olalekan Biliamin Onafeko, the claimant, and several defendants, including the Lagos State Government, the Lagos State House of Assembly, and other key parties.
In the latest court session, held on March 18, 2025, the court adjourned the matter to April 2, 2025, at 12 noon, for further hearings on the outstanding motions in the case.
Notably, the court issued a directive for all parties to maintain peace and refrain from suggesting that the court has authority over the Lagos State House of Assembly’s decisions, particularly regarding the reinstatement of individuals removed from their positions by the Assembly.
The court clarified that it has no jurisdiction in such matters.
This case, involving multiple legal representatives from both sides, is focused on claims related to the removal of certain individuals by the Lagos State House of Assembly and the claimant’s stance on the matter.
As the case progresses, the court has emphasized that it expects all parties to respect the legal process and maintain decorum.
