Qatar has facilitated a second round of talks between the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Rwanda, as well as separate meetings with representatives of the Rwandan-backed M23 rebel group.
This development comes as tensions continue to rise in eastern Congo, where the M23 insurgency has been active since January.
According to sources, Congolese and Rwandan officials met on Friday, while Qatari mediators held separate talks with M23 representatives.
These discussions follow a meeting between DRC President Felix Tshisekedi and Rwandan President Paul Kagame in Doha last week, marking their first talks since the M23 rebels launched their latest offensive.
The situation in eastern Congo remains volatile, with the M23 rebellion exacerbating an already dire humanitarian crisis.
The international community is closely watching these developments, with concerns that the conflict could escalate further.
