Sierra Leone’s President, Julius Maada Wonie Bio, has praised his recent visit to Egypt as a major success, highlighting the wisdom and vision of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in advancing Africa’s development.
According to a statement from the Sierra Leonean presidency, the visit marked a significant step in strengthening diplomatic and economic cooperation between the two nations.
During their meeting, President Sisi reaffirmed the strong relations between Egypt and Sierra Leone, emphasizing opportunities to deepen joint collaboration. President Bio commended the constructive discussions, which focused on enhancing bilateral ties and addressing regional issues.
Both leaders underscored the importance of expanding economic cooperation across various sectors, including agriculture, health, transport, aviation, maritime industries, fisheries, defense, education, and political collaboration.

President Bio reiterated Sierra Leone’s commitment to global peace and security, acknowledging its role as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

As part of the visit, the two presidents witnessed the signing of several memorandums of understanding aimed at strengthening partnerships in key sectors.
The statement also emphasized Sierra Leone’s strong interest in agricultural development and its eagerness to explore cooperation opportunities with Egypt in this field.
