A devastating series of attacks by suspected herdsmen has led to a mass exodus of residents from Olena in Asa community, Otukpo LGA of Benue State.

The community has been under siege for four days, with multiple casualties and abductions reported.

Residents were forced to flee their homes on Monday night, having lost hope of any security intervention.

A resident who escaped with his family confirmed the dire situation, stating that the community had been abandoned and was under serious attack.

The attacks have resulted in several deaths and kidnappings, with villagers crying out for help that has yet to arrive.

Video footage obtained by reporters shows residents desperately fleeing their homes as the attacks intensified.

The situation remains dire, with no immediate end to the violence in sight.
