A 35-year-old man, identified as Musa Ibrahim from the Maduganari area of Maiduguri, was arrested after attempting to unlawfully access the private residence of Vice President Kashim Shettima. The incident occurred on April 9 at around 5:30 AM at the Vice President’s home, located in New GRA, Gwange 3 Ward off Bama Road, Maiduguri, Borno State.
According to intelligence sources, Ibrahim attempted to scale the perimeter wall of the residence via the Gadabul River bank on the western side of the property. Upon being spotted by security personnel, Ibrahim tried to flee but was shot in the leg and arrested.
He was swiftly transported to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) for treatment and is currently in stable condition. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
In response to the breach, security measures at the Vice President’s residence have been heightened and reviewed to ensure better protection.
