Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have released Pastor Samson Ndah Ali of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), who was abducted from his residence in Mararaba Aboro, Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State. However, in a twist of events, the abductors detained the man who delivered the ransom for the clergyman’s release.

The ransom bearer, identified as Yusuf Shehu Ambi — the financial secretary of ECWA in Mararaba Aboro — was reportedly carrying a substantial sum to secure the pastor’s freedom when he was seized by the kidnappers. Sources claim the abductors are now demanding additional money or other concessions before Ambi will be released.

Pastor Ali was kidnapped in the early hours of Tuesday, April 8, 2025, just two weeks after his posting to the local church. His captors had initially demanded a ransom of ₦100 million for his release.

Although the Kaduna State Police Command has yet to officially confirm the incident, local sources informed Channels Television that Pastor Ali is now safe, while efforts are ongoing to secure Ambi’s freedom.

The community remains on edge as negotiations continue, with residents calling on security agencies to intensify efforts to end the spate of abductions in the region.
