Hundreds of women marched through Port Harcourt, Rivers State, demanding the reinstatement of suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu, citing what they called “unconstitutional military rule masked as a state of emergency”.

The protesters, who described themselves as mothers and wives, carried placards with messages like “Bring Back Fubara” and “Save Our Democracy” as they appealed to President Bola Tinubu to lift the suspension.
Despite the ongoing political crisis, they praised Governor Fubara for continuing to work and deliver democratic dividends.
The protest remained peaceful, with women of all ages participating, and was aimed at defending their votes and the sanctity of democracy in the state.
