The building collapse occurred on Saturday, trapping several people beneath the rubble. The structure housed a restaurant, with staff and customers present at the time of the incident.

LASEMA said emergency responders are maintaining safety precautions and crowd control around the site, with investigations into the cause of the collapse ongoing.

A total of 20 individuals have been accounted for in the incident, with rescue efforts continuing.
