President Bola Tinubu is set to return to Nigeria today, April 21, 2025, after a short work visit to France.
The Presidency announced that Tinubu used the trip to review ongoing reforms and engage in strategic planning ahead of his administration’s second anniversary.
Tinubu’s trip to France had sparked criticism from opposition leaders, who faulted him for being away from the country amid rising insecurity, particularly in Benue and Plateau states.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party’s Peter Obi urged Tinubu to cut short his trip and address the security situation.
However, the Presidency noted that Tinubu maintained constant communication with government officials, overseeing critical national matters and directing security chiefs to address emerging threats.
The President’s return comes as the country continues to grapple with security challenges and economic reforms.
