Veteran Nigerian musician Evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi has addressed the widespread rumours of his death, confirming that he is alive, healthy, and in high spirits.

In a lively video shared on Tuesday morning, the 83-year-old music legend joyfully performed and dismissed the false claims. Singing in a mix of Yoruba, English, and Pidgin, Obey-Fabiyi said, “Hello, my name is Professor Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi. Satan, you don lose o, Satan, you don lose o, you don pafuka. Na lie lie you dey talk, you don pafuka.”
The veteran artist then assured his fans, saying, “It is fake news that started a few hours ago claiming that I, Evangelist Obey, have passed on to glory. It is a lie. I am alive, and that is not the word Jesus has written.”
The death rumours, which began circulating on Monday, quickly spread across social media, prompting an outpouring of premature tributes and condolences from fans and well-wishers.
