The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has expressed heartfelt condolences to the FCT Referee Council and the entire Nigerian refereeing community following the death of former FIFA Assistant Referee, Bosede Momoh.

Momoh passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025, at the National Hospital in Abuja after a prolonged illness.
In a statement, NFF General Secretary Dr. Mohammed Sanusi conveyed deep sorrow over the loss, describing Momoh as a “gentle but firm and conscientious referee” who earned widespread respect for her professionalism, discipline, and warm personality.

“Late Bosede Momoh was kind-hearted and of good character, yet firm and diligent in her duties,” Sanusi said. “She endeared herself to many through her fairness, dedication to the game, and unwavering commitment to excellence. She will be sorely missed.”
Though retired from international duties, Momoh remained active in the development of Nigerian football. She served as a National Physical Fitness Instructor and an assessor in the Nigeria Premier Football League, continuing to contribute meaningfully to the sport she loved.
“She left behind a legacy of integrity and passion,” Sanusi added. “We pray that the Almighty grants her eternal rest and comforts her family, friends, and the entire refereeing fraternity during this difficult time.”
