The Nigeria National League (NNL) has expelled Lagos-based football club, 1472 FC, from the ongoing 2024/2025 season after the team failed to honour three scheduled fixtures.

According to a statement issued by the NNL and signed by its Chief Operating Officer, Danlami Alanana, the league’s management invoked Article 14.11 of the NNL rulebook to enforce the expulsion.
The affected fixtures include matches against Abia Comets (Matchday 9), Dakkada FC (Matchday 53), and Ijele FC (Matchday 74). The club’s repeated absence was deemed a serious breach of league regulations.
In addition to their expulsion, 1472 FC has been slammed with a N5 million fine. The NNL also confirmed that all results from matches the club had participated in have been nullified, while their remaining fixtures for the season have been officially cancelled.

The league’s decision underscores its commitment to upholding professionalism and ensuring strict adherence to its competition rules.
