The Julius Abure-led Labour Party has set up a disciplinary committee to investigate allegations of anti-party activities against Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, and other party members.

The party’s National Executive Council (NEC) made the decision after reviewing Otti’s actions and determining that they warranted disciplinary action.

The committee, chaired by Dr. Ayo Olorunfemi, has two weeks to submit its report.

The NEC also commended the Supreme Court’s judgment on the party’s leadership question and declared that the party will not be part of any coalition towards the 2027 general elections.

The Labour Party NEC expressed its commitment to seeking peace and reconciliation within the party and extended an olive branch to aggrieved members to sheath their swords in the overall interest of the party and the nation.
