Billionaire Aliko Dangote has commended President Bola Tinubu for assembling a capable leadership team at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
During a visit to the President in Abuja, Dangote highlighted the appointments of Bashir Ojulari as Group Chief Executive Officer and Ahmadu Kida as Non-Executive Chairman, describing them as a formidable and professionally competent team that will take the oil and gas sector to greater heights.
Dangote expressed confidence that the new leadership will propel the country’s energy industry to new heights, citing their commitment to transparency, efficiency, and accountability.
The business magnate noted that the new management brings substantial technical expertise and managerial experience necessary for revitalizing the national oil company.
He also praised the President for driving reform and innovation across the energy sector, aligning with the vision of a $1 trillion economy.
In addition to commending the President, Dangote clarified that his recent comments about fighting “cabals” in the oil sector referred to some major oil marketers and traders who are bent on frustrating President Tinubu’s efforts to revamp the nation’s economy, not the new NNPC leadership.
In fact, Dangote expressed gratitude for the support he has received from the new NNPC leadership in addressing his company’s needs, particularly regarding his $20 billion refinery.
