Kolade Alabi, Chairman of the Bariga Local Council Development Area in Lagos State and Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) Chairman, slumped during an APC stakeholders’ meeting on Tuesday.
The incident caused panic, and Alabi was rushed to the hospital for medical attention after being revived by attendees.
The meeting, which was convened ahead of the upcoming local government elections, was halted due to the incident.
The APC has been working to ensure a peaceful primary election process, with party leaders emphasizing the importance of unity and consensus in selecting candidates for the chairmanship and councillorship positions.
The primaries are scheduled for Saturday, and the party aims to maintain cohesion within the Lagos APC.
