The bodies of South African radio journalist Sibusiso Aserie Ndlovu and his partner, Zodwa Precious Mdhluli, have been discovered in a severely decomposed state more than two months after they went missing, according to local media groups.
While police confirmed the discovery of human remains in a bush in Limpopo province, DNA testing is still underway to formally confirm the identities. However, two prominent media organisations — the African Media and Communicators Forum (AMCF) and the National Press Club (NPC) — stated that forensic experts had already identified the remains as those of the couple.

Ndlovu, founder of Capital Live radio in Pretoria, and Mdhluli were reported missing on February 18. A major breakthrough in the case came with the arrest of five suspects, who were found in possession of the couple’s stolen belongings, including furniture, appliances, and parts of their car.
The AMCF and NPC expressed shock and sorrow over the brutal murder. “I am terribly sad. We held out hope that despite the number of days that the couple had gone missing, they would still be found alive,” said AMCF chairperson Elijah Mhlanga. “Our deepest condolences go out to the families of our brother and sister.”
The incident has reignited concerns about South Africa’s alarming crime rate. In 2024 alone, the country recorded 26,232 murders — an average of 72 killings per day, making it one of the most violent nations in the world.
