Suspected bandits have attacked the Waje community in Danko Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, killing 15 farmers and injuring three others.
The Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Tafida, representing Governor Nasir Idris, visited the community to offer condolences and announced a donation to support the victims’ families, describing it as a modest effort to assist during this difficult time.
Senator Tafida assured the community that the state government would take necessary steps to address insecurity, ensuring farmers can safely return to their farmlands.
The District Head of Waje, Hon. Bala Danbaba, commended the state government for the visit and financial assistance, appealing for enhanced security measures to block entry points used by attackers, given the area’s vulnerability due to its borders with Niger, Zamfara, and Sokoto states.
