Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, has passed away after collapsing in his office.
He was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Yenagoa, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The incident occurred around 1:30 pm, prompting an immediate emergency response.
Ewhrudjakpo, 60, was known for his demanding workload, and sources suggest his collapse might be linked to a cardiac complication.
Security operatives have taken control of the hospital premises as top government officials arrive to show solidarity.
