The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has maintained its Monetary Policy Rate (MPR) at 27.50%, marking the first time since February 2024 that the rate has remained unchanged.
CBN Governor Yemi Cardoso announced the decision after the 300th Monetary Policy Committee meeting in Abuja, stating that all 12 committee members voted unanimously to hold key monetary parameters steady.
The Cash Reserve Ratio for Deposit Money Banks and Merchant Banks remains at 50% and 16%, respectively, while the Liquidity Ratio stays at 30% and the Asymmetric Corridor at +500/-100 basis points around the MPR.
