The Nigerian Army has confirmed the elimination of high-profile Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorist commander, Amir Abu Fatima, in a precision military operation under Operation Hadin Kai in Kukawa, northern Borno State.
Abu Fatima, who had a ₦100 million bounty on his head, was neutralized alongside several top lieutenants, including his deputy and explosives experts.
The operation, conducted on May 30, 2025, was based on credible intelligence aimed at dismantling a key terrorist stronghold in the region.
During the intense exchange of fire, Abu Fatima was fatally wounded, and troops recovered several AK-47 rifles, magazines, assorted ordnance, and IED-making materials.
The mission was completed without casualties on the army’s side, delivering a significant blow to terrorist leadership in the region and reinforcing the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s commitment to restoring peace in the North-East.
