President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has extended warm greetings to the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, praying that the sacred festival brings peace, love, and unity to Nigeria.

In a statement marking the celebration, Akpabio described Eid-el-Kabir as a season that reflects the core values of sacrifice, compassion, and selflessness. He called on Muslims and all Nigerians to draw inspiration from the unwavering obedience and faith of Prophet Ibrahim, whose willingness to sacrifice his son symbolizes total submission to the will of God.

“The spirit of Eid-el-Kabir reminds us of the importance of sacrifice, kindness, and obedience,” the Senate President said. “Let us use this moment to reflect on these virtues and apply them in our daily lives, fostering a culture of peace, mutual understanding, and national cooperation.”

Akpabio acknowledged the economic and social challenges confronting the country, but also highlighted the reforms being implemented by President Bola Tinubu’s administration, which he described as necessary steps toward sustainable growth and development.

“Though the path may be difficult, these reforms are beginning to bear fruit,” he said. “Let us remain patient, resilient, and united as we build a better future for our country.”

He urged Nigerians to use the festive occasion to promote interfaith harmony, strengthen national unity, and support efforts aimed at collective progress.

Akpabio concluded by praying for continued peace, prosperity, and divine blessings upon Nigeria.
