The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his continued support in revitalizing critical infrastructure in the capital, including the newly completed Greater Abuja Water Supply Network.

Wike stated this at the commissioning ceremony on June 16, 2025, recalling President Tinubu’s early intervention and firm queries regarding dormant infrastructure projects upon assuming office.

The $417 million project, awarded in 2017, had stalled until the Tinubu administration completed it.

Wike also revealed a new agreement with the China Development Corporation to extend water access to rural areas, with procurement processes nearly complete for projects in Bwari, Kubwa, Karu, and other satellite towns.

He assured that subsequent water projects would not experience the delays seen with the current project, which took eight years to complete.
