The All Progressives Congress (APC) has scheduled a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting for July 24 to nominate a new national chairman, following the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje last Friday.
In the interim, Deputy National Chairman (North), Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, has been appointed as Acting National Chairman and assumed office on Monday.
A formal notice of the NEC meeting has been sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The NEC meeting is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the party’s future leadership and direction.
The APC’s National Working Committee (NWC) made the announcement after an emergency meeting at the party’s national secretariat.
According to Deputy National Secretary, Barrister Festus Fuanter, the meeting will formally nominate a new national chairman, marking a significant step in the party’s leadership transition.
