The interim national chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, has stated that the coalition of opposition political parties will prevent Nigeria from descending into a one-party state.
Mark emphasized that the coalition is a united front committed to saving the country’s democracy and rebuilding its crumbling pillars.
He criticized the current administration for allegedly hijacking democratic institutions and pushing Nigeria towards total civilian dictatorship.
Mark also condemned the government’s focus on politicking over governance, which he said has left many Nigerians wallowing in hunger and poverty.
The former senate president highlighted the country’s insecurity, corruption, and alleged emasculation of the national assembly, describing it as a mere appendage of presidential authority.
Mark promised that the ADC coalition would be a party of equal stakeholders and democratic traditions, committed to rebuilding the guardrails of democracy and anchoring power in the will of the people.
