Former Nigeria Football Federation President Amaju Pinnick has been appointed a special adviser to Patrice Motsepe, the President of the Confederation of African Football.
Motsepe announced Pinnick’s appointment during a press conference on Saturday, returning him to a key role in CAF’s executive decision-making framework after Pinnick lost his re-election bid for the FIFA Council in March.
With over a decade of experience in football administration, Pinnick brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role, having previously served as NFF President and FIFA Council member.
The National Sports Commission congratulated Pinnick on his new role, stating that the Federal Government will continue to support capable Nigerians in seeking key positions in international sporting bodies, which is expected to contribute to the development of football in Africa.
