Boko Haram insurgents have struck again in Borno State, killing nine people and injuring four others in an attack on the Malamfatori community in the Abadam Local Government Area.
The attack occurred on Saturday, with the injured being rushed to hospitals for treatment.
Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, condoled with the families of the victims, assuring them that the state government and military would do everything possible to secure the town.
Zulum, represented by Commissioner for Local Government and Emirate Affairs, Sugun Mele, also announced plans to fortify the town from further attacks by deploying excavators to dig trenches around the local government headquarters.
The governor commended the military for their commitment and gallantry, while warning against collaborating with Boko Haram.
Cash support was provided to the bereaved families and those undergoing treatment.
Additionally, the government plans to resettle 3,000 more households in Malam Fatori, bringing the total number of resettled families to 5,000.
