Super Eagles defender Ola Aina has committed his future to Nottingham Forest, signing a new three-year deal that will keep him at the club until 2028.
The 28-year-old full-back had one year remaining on his previous contract but has now extended his stay following a successful campaign in which he played a crucial role in helping Forest secure a seventh-place finish in the Premier League, qualifying for the Europa Conference League play-offs.
“I can’t wait to continue this journey with the club,” Aina said. “It’s always felt like home ever since I joined, and I’m happy to be here. Now my focus is on preparing for the new season and getting back to hard work.”
Aina joined Forest on a free transfer from Torino two years ago and has since made 59 appearances, scoring twice. The former Chelsea academy product has become a fan favourite at the City Ground thanks to his consistency, versatility, and tenacity on the pitch.
His contract renewal follows a string of key signings for the club. Defender Neco Williams signed a new deal last week, while striker Chris Wood and centre-back Murillo both committed their futures to Forest earlier this year. Head coach Nuno Espírito Santo, who led the team back into European competition for the first time since the 1995/96 season, also signed a new three-year contract last month.
Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis praised Aina’s impact and work ethic, saying: “Ola has skill, determination and character in abundance. He epitomises the culture and hard work we expect from everyone associated with Forest.
