A devastating attack was carried out by suspected bandits on the Bege Baptist Church in Yaribori community, Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, including the church’s pastor, Reverend Emmanuel Na’allah, and a member, Mallam Samaila Gidan Taro.
A woman was also abducted during the attack, which occurred on Monday night when gunmen stormed the church premises and opened fire on worshippers.
The incident has sparked widespread concern and outrage in the community, with many calling for increased security measures to protect citizens and places of worship.
The Katsina State Police Command has yet to officially react to the attack, with the Police Public Relations Officer, Sadiq Abubakar, unable to immediately confirm the incident.
This latest attack highlights the growing insecurity in the northwestern region of Nigeria, where bandits have been wreaking havoc on communities, kidnapping and killing innocent people.
The incident has also raised questions about the effectiveness of the government’s security measures and the need for a more comprehensive approach to address the root causes of insecurity in the region.
