Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United in a deal worth £55 million, subject to a work permit.

Kudus, 24, has agreed to a six-year contract that will keep him at the North London club until 2031. Although his release clause was set at £85 million, Spurs secured his services after West Ham turned down an initial £50 million bid last week.
Kudus made a strong impression during his time at West Ham, registering 13 goals and nine assists in 65 Premier League appearances. He arrived at the club from Ajax in August 2023 for £38 million and went on to score 14 goals across all competitions in his debut season.
In his first official interview as a Spurs player, Kudus expressed excitement about the move, saying:

“I’ve always wanted to play at the highest level. The size of the club, its history, and the chance to play Champions League football make this a big moment for me. I’m very happy and can’t wait to start.”
He also highlighted new Spurs head coach Thomas Frank as a key factor in his decision to join the club: “Seeing the talent he’s developed into great players was a big sign for me. I look forward to working under him.”

Kudus could soon be joined by Morgan Gibbs-White of Nottingham Forest, who is expected to undergo a medical on Friday ahead of a £60 million transfer to Tottenham.
Tottenham’s swift move for Kudus follows interest from at least six top clubs, but the Ghana international prioritized a switch to North London.
