Former President Muhammadu Buhari was laid to rest in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, surrounded by family, friends, and dignitaries.
The burial ceremony, held within the premises of his family compound, was attended by prominent figures, including President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and other government officials.
Buhari’s casket was draped in Nigeria’s green and white colors, and a 21-gun salute was fired in his honour.
The former president passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the age of 82, after a prolonged illness in London.
