The Bola Tinubu Presidency has lashed out at the African Democratic Congress (ADC), accusing the opposition party of exploiting the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari to score cheap political points and remain relevant in the national discourse.
In a statement, the Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare, described the ADC’s recent comments on Buhari’s state burial as “obnoxious,” “laughable,” and an “insult to millions of mourning Nigerians.”
Dare turned the accusations back on the ADC, stating that it is the opposition party, not the Tinubu administration, that is exploiting Buhari’s death, and cited the “choreographed arrival” of opposition figures during the burial rites as evidence of this.
The Presidency insisted that President Tinubu’s government is focused on performance and delivering on its Renewed Hope Agenda, listing several achievements, including stabilization of the Naira, increase in oil production, and infrastructure delivery.
