A terrorist attack in south-west Niger has resulted in the deaths of two Indian nationals and the abduction of another, the Indian Embassy has said, adding that it is working closely with local authorities to repatriate the remains of the deceased and ensure the safe release of the abducted Indian.
The incident occurred when unidentified gunmen attacked an Army unit guarding a construction site in Dosso, approximately 130 kilometers from the capital Niamey.
The Indian Embassy has expressed its shock and sadness over the incident and is providing all necessary assistance to the families of the victims, while also advising Indians in the West African nation to remain vigilant.
