President Bola Tinubu has visited Ijebu, Ogun State, to pay his last respects to the late Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, who passed away on July 13 at the age of 91.
Accompanied by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, the President arrived at the Gateway International Agro/Cargo airport in Illisan Iperu, Ogun State, where he was received by Governor Dapo Abiodun, former Governor Olusegun Osoba, and other top government officials.
Tinubu participated in the eighth-day Fidau prayer for the Awujale and offered prayers at the monarch’s tomb, expressing his condolences to the royal family.
The late Awujale, who ruled for 65 years, was one of Nigeria’s longest-serving traditional rulers and a prominent voice in national affairs.
